Engine wont start

Engine wont start
We JUST got the engine running today after it's rebuild. it fired up great, it burned in good and sat at idle for a good 30mins or so. I drove it about 20 miles and it ran great. The "check engine" light was on, but it ran good.
I got it over to my friend's house to check it out and all before heading home. I shut the engine off, and now it wont restart.
It gets a spark, it has gas, the engine light is on, but i did the code thing, and there is NO code (just does nothing but 12's)
it sounds like its starting, but will not turn over. We recheck all the cables, plugs, sensors, etc... and it wont start..
Any ideas?
It is stuck at my friend's house until this gets fixed... or its the fun expensive tow trip to the shop...

Check for fuel pressure in the fuel rail. Put a small 12v lamp on one of the injector plugs and see if it is being pulsed when you crank the engine. Check to see if spark timing is correct with a timing light. One or more of these tests will tell you where to look further.

After looking at all kinds of stuff on it, we determined it probably has something to do with either the fuel pressure regulator, or the injectors. We will try the injector test... It has pressure in the rails, we poked the little tire valve looking thing on it, and it sprayed out... but i guess there might not be enouigh of it for the car to run...
It is timed ok, and runs great... which is why we are really puzzled about why it wont start now :(
