TPS voltage at Wide-Open-Throttle (WOT) is a function of power enrichment (PE). If the voltage is below a certain point at WOT, the ECM will reduce the level of power enrichment and the engine will not perform to its potential. With the TPS TEC, the TPS voltage is enhanced at 70% throttle, assuring maximum TPS voltage and maximum percentage of PE. This module also corrects for low sensor voltage and "dead spots" in the throttle range. LED indicators verify correct operation.

Reproduction? There were no "Throttle Performance Switch" installed those years.

If you what "full throttle", why not just floor it and get the same thing without the "Throttle Performance Switch" ? What is the benefit of this switch?

The C4 era used Bosch/GM analog TPS & ECM systems where the throttle voltage signal directly affects fuel/timing enrichment behavior. If the TPS voltage at wide-open throttle is below spec, the ECU may reduce “power enrichment” and starve the engine of potential.
Also, over time, cables stretch, sensors wear, or calibrations drift — meaning the ECM might never fully “see” WOT in the traditional sense. This switch addresses that limitation by ensuring the ECM gets the “flag” of WOT earlier. Many C4s are now modified (intakes, camshafts, exhaust, etc) and may benefit from unlocking the higher fuel/timing curves sooner.

My take / recommendation

If you have a 1984-1991 C4 Corvette and you:

Drive it enthusiastically (not just casual cruising)
Want more immediate throttle kick and better high-throttle performance
Don’t have a full aftermarket ECU/tune setup (just stock ECM or mild mods)
Then installing a throttle performance switch is a cost-effective, relatively simple upgrade.

However, if your C4 has a full custom tune or standalone system, you might instead want to look at retuning the ECU directly for best results. Also make sure your TPS cable/sensor and all supporting engine systems are healthy for it to be fully effective.

In tpi cars, Power Enrichment occurs above 70% tps load axis. This is about 2.7 tps volts.

At what input voltage will this device output 2.7 volts?

Please share the voltage-in to voltage-out transfer function.

Early PE is not really a benefit for a naturally aspirated engine unless excessive fuel consumption is desired.

Great question. You’re correct on how PE is triggered on TPI cars. This switch does not have a linear voltage-in/voltage-out transfer function and it isn’t programmable. It works by applying a small fixed offset to the TPS signal, which can reference PE earlier relative to throttle position, not at a specific voltage like 2.7V.

Because of that, there isn’t an exact input voltage where the device “outputs” 2.7V, and results can vary slightly between cars. On a naturally aspirated engine, it’s best viewed as a throttle response aid, not a tuning solution. For precise PE control, custom ECM tuning is the better option.
