has any ever installed the one one piece weatherstripping around the top and side of a 85-96 .if so how hard is it and what are the steps thanks any advice as to how to do it would be apreciated. :blueangel:
Rip out the old stuff, scrape everything out (including the glue) then clean it real well (I used mineral spirits). Take the screws out of the the top channel and remove it. Clean the undersides and reattach it with a good adhesive. Next install with weather stripping without glue and check the fit. Next pull a little bit fo the stripping out of the channel at a time and spread the adhesive in there. Let it dry for a little the stuff away and move on to the next section.
Lastly, let it sit without disturbing it for as long as you can, then coat it with some dielectric silicon of some other type of silicon the UV protection (rubbing it in real good) and your off and running.
The worst part of the job is getting all those little "old adhesive" boogers out of the channel. Plan on a couple of hours to do a through job.
