This will get easier if you find out if it is the starter or the starter 12V signal that is bad. Check for voltage at the starter while the key is in "Start". Takes two people. Dan
Yesterday checked the voltage and was getting 12v to the big lug. Havent had a chance to get someone else to help me check the small side. May have to get some long leads with alligator clips so i can see it when starting.
Pulled some tape off the small connector wire and its ate up so waiting for some wire to come in. Will have to do a repair on it before I can go any further.
OK I am back. I got everything working after replacing the starter, alternator, ignition switch, jumper for the starter wiring to repair a wire there to the small lug, and replaced the wire from the alternator to the battery, as the old one was shot there as well.
I was now getting proper charging numbers.
Got some new tires on it, and took it back out for a drive, and damn thing did the exact thing, was driving, starter shreiked and I lost charging. Was able to limp home a couple miles, and pull it into the garage.
Turned the key off, car acting like it was still starting. Disconnected battery and shut the garage door.
Is there a specific wiring harness that I can get to replace everything at the starter?
