Default Error Code 32 and 46

While cruising in the Vette this weekend my "Service Engine Soon" came on. I pulled the codes and got a 32 and 46. Now i know what these codes mean I just have a question about a theory that might cause the errors. BTW, the engine light has gone off since then and hasent come back. So, about the 46, which has something to do with the VATS, I have a VAT bypass switch installed and I think once while the car was running I accientally hit the switch and the "SYS" flashed on the LCD. Do you think that could have triggered the error code? And as for the 32, I am thinking that it may be from driving at high altitude, low temperature going uphill. I took the Vette to Yosemite this weekend and only while driving up the mountain in the cold at about 45 mph the light would come on. I would get back to the hotel, let it sit overnight, and then go the next day and it was fine until climbing the hill again. I drove 200 miles home and have been back at home now for 2 days at about sea level and the engine light has not come on. So do you think the error was just the high altitude with the cold air and strane of going uphill and it just got a below normal reading or might there be something wrong? Thanx for any help!

Default Re: Error Code 32 and 46 (C490Vette)

i just recently replaced the EGR valve because of a code 32. Found my valve was faulty, replaced and all is good. Going up a hill wouldn't trigger it because there is a minimum speed of 50 and the coolant above 140F degrees requirement while the throttle must be under 1.2% load. If the code is gone now most likely the ECM is ok with grounding the solonoid. Mine started to fail when it got cold out, i.e. like a mountain top would. I would replace the valve and go from there. If not the solonoid is probably on its way out. Valve is like 45 bucks from jeff kopp and solonoid is 22 ish.....or just opt to replace both and be done with it

good luck

Kitt
