A couple of weeks ago, Fellow forum member BBA suggested that I try the GL-100 75w-90 semi-synthetic gear lube in the rear end of my '85 Vette. I'm impressed with the product. It does everything BBA said it would. My car backs up out of my steep driveway easier and without me having to push on the gas pedal nearly as hard as I used to. I also noticed my gas mileage increased by 1.4 mpg. and the car accelerates better! And no limited-slip additive was needed. It was worth it! Thanks again, BBA! :chevy
I'm excited to hear that no additive was needed. I replaced my diff fluid with the GL100 a few weeks ago. The car has been still in the shop getting the body work done, so i havn't been able to drive it yet. With winter still here, i won't be able to try it out for another few months.
Then we expect to hear back from you about how smooth the rear end is. :D
Well, my car came home last night. I did a quick 3 point turn in my drive way to put it into the garage. No noise whatsoever from the rear.
Even a 9 degrees my tranny with the Castrol TWS in it shifted smooth too!!
This is going to seem like a stupid question, but can this be used on a car with an auto trans?
The only stupid question is one that is not asked! My car has an automatic. I'm sure it doesn't make a difference since the lube goes in the differential. Give it a try! :chevy
I put GL 100 in my 96 LT4 had to put additive in after 3000 miles rear
was making noise additive fixed it.
Your the first person I ever heard this from. I think you may have a rear end problem and adding the snake oil probably did not fix anything.
Maybe the level was just low so adding the additive moved the level up??? Did you check for leaks? Maybe your clutch packs are just disentegrated in the first place?
Trust me, I have taken MANY rear ends that clattered from posi clutches that could not be quited by almost any other brand lube/additive combo, drained them and filled them with GL100 and instantly and completely solved the clutch pack noises.
Yours would be an exception.
Maybe you just thought you used VP Racing GL-100? Maybe your memory is failing and you really used Mobil 1 ( sounds like the way Mobil 1 works )???
Now, as for where you can get it...some better speed shops will carry it, or you can order it online at http://www.vpracingfuels.com
