Do these have a roller fulcrum as well? If so, you'd probably get somewhere around 10 rwhp, depending on your cam. What this does is essentially opens the valves more like a larger cam would. Be sure this is not going to be a problem with your setup (coil bind).
If these are roller tips only, I am not sure how much power they would be worth since you'd still get the benifit of the increased lift, but not the reduced friction. Generally speaking, roller tip only are a waste, IMO.
Well I have two sets. One set of proform 1.5 true roller rockers. the other are just some roller tip 1.6 pro magnum(?) Which set will yield the most gain?
I dont remember the exact corvette mag that had the article but Super Chevy had the same one in there Feb 2002 issue.
This was on a 383 SB
With just 1.5 Roller tips they gained an Average of 3 and a max of 8 HP
With 1.5 full rollers they gained an average of 8 with a Max of 17
They went up to the 1.6 and lost 40 HP They had a problem with the push rod contacting the top of the clerance hole and it was binding. They state that this was a problem with there paticular set up and that the Dyno shop had result of up to 20 HP increase with the 1.6RR over the 1.5s in engines that had small cams and needed the extra lift the 1.6s provided.
A lot of guys here run 1.6 full rollers with none of the above problems including myself. So I think it is safe to say you will get between 10-20 HP from the mod. Also TPIS insider hints has Dyno runs with full rollers taht show abouthte same increase as the Super Chevy article
Go with the full rollers... There will def be a gain... Maybe a 100 more rpms or so too...... You better win, Im counting on you :yesnod: Take my advice from the last post and you wont lose
Man , my car felt a lot better top end. I did not do a Pre or post dyno. but it really did improve my response and "seat of the pants feel" . Insure you get withy COOP (GM GUY) and get the retainers, locks, and springs. For the Lt4. I think it all cost about $58 cheap!!!! I want with the 5/8 Comp cam Magnums!!! with new pushrods and guideplates!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Before you do it just know that you will have to grind down the boaster under the valve covers. I also removed my chamber breather..."small box" under valve cover. it is about a 4 - 5 hour job to do it all.

Anymore details on why they had binding problems? What was the valve lift? What cam? What head casting?
Has anyone seen a test of changed rockers on a stock L98? It would be nice to see the affect on a stock cam. This article is good, but it's a 383 with nothing stock. I'd like to see a dyno comparison of replacement 1.51.52 stamped, 1.5/1.6 roller tips, and 1.5 & 1.6 rollers with the stock L98 cam and heads.
