Default Gates Water Pump - Thermoswitch???

I bought a new water pump for my L98 and I am not going to be running heat in the car (SoCal life). I was wondering if I could put a thermoswitch where the heater core line would be used.

See the black allen head plug?

I would like to use this to trigger the electric fan. Why? I am basically gutting all the stock wiring so I want to turn this into it's own circuit.

Answering my own question here: Apparently the way the heater core flows is from the intake to the water pump. So the pump port is a "suction" pump. So that won't work.

Put your thermo switch in the inlet manifold where the outlet to the heater core used to be.
