I have isolated my headlight problem on my '92 to an apparent broken piece on the headlight assembly. The piece looks to function as switch, cutting the headlight motor on and off. It spins freely on the shaft now. Does the headlight motor have a fuse or relay that could have burnt up as well. There is some blackening and melting of a wire going into the motor, which suggests the motor hung on until a fuse or relay or motor  burnt up. Has anyone out there had any experiences they could share???
I replaced the relays and gears on my 85 and there were 3 relays. The motor switch was controled by points in the motor that moved when the headlight reached the stop. I have never had my 93s off.

92's have the little bushings that eventually crumble and allow the motor to run on when the headlight is opened or closed. Corvette Central and MAD both sell the repair kit for around $5. They're easy to fix and it's probably a good idea to do both headlights at the same time. I did my right headlight last year and now my left headlight is doing the same thing.
Thanks guys, good info. I'll have to dig into the headlight again, but I'm in the process of converting over to an Alpine head unit and trashing the Bose. Its alot more work than I anticipated.
Do you think my motor is shot if it hung on or is there a fuse or relay that could have blown?

With the crumbled bushings in my headlight motor it will continue to run after the headlight rotates to the closed position for about 10 to 15 seconds and then it stops. Are you saying that you motor will not run at all when you turn you headlights on or off?
BTW - I put an Alpine in my 92 last year ... what a difference over the BOSE!!
