Brakes lights stuck on.

Brakes lights stuck on.
Came home today and the brake lights are stuck on and won't go out. I had to disconnect the battery to keep it from draining. I have a switch here but wanted to know from someone that has changed theirs what kind of time I should allow for it. I don't think I've every taken the drivers side dash apart. I've always been on the other side. Any helpful tips would certainly be appreciated. :yesnod:

I think there was a Service Bulletin about the brake pedal assembly contacting the underside of the dash causing the brake lights to stay on -- I don't remember all the details.

Well I got 155k miles out of it so I "doubt" that's it, but if you have anymore details, please advise.
Anyone else that reads this, even if you haven't replaced it, if you have "some" idea as to how long it takes to get the drivers side lower dash apart that would help.

The brake lights are controlled by a switch just above the brake pedal, inside the dash panel. The lower left dash panel is easily removed on my 89 and the switch is accessable. Look in any manual and this adjustment is described. It is an easy procedure on my 89! Regards, Sam
