Here is the Delima. I have a 1992 C4 corvette convertible. It came factory with the X frame stiffener. I am taking down the frame stiffener on the drivers side to replace the brake lines. Issue that I ran into is the bolt broke the nut on the frame for the stiffener. How do I access this to get the bolt out?
Photos please your speed posting, try saying I have an 87 convertible and I snapped the X frame bolt.
We need a little background these cars can be stock or creative modifications
Tis been edited. I would like to think if someone ran into the issue before they would have an ideal of what I was talking about and had a solution for my situation.
It won't be easy but I think you will need to cut away the spinning bolt and possibly install one of these capture bolts I believe I saw a listing for up to 1/2
Before grinding it off I would try one last thing. Get a wedge and hammer it in between the brace and the frame to get as much downward pressure on the bolt you can and try loosening it.
I don't own a convertible C4 so this might not be possible. But after you grind off the old bolt and nut could you just weld in a new nut? This is how I would do it if it's possible.

A creative person with good welding skills might be able to reconnect the broken away captured Nut that was just tack welded inside the body, then drill out/Tap the rusted bolt.
