87 Code 34 & MAF Sensor Options?
I tried replacing the MAF power relay and cleaning the sensor with no affect.
For testing, unplugging the sensor had no change in idle, and started throwing a 33.
I've been trying to find a new MAF sensor, but I have only found non-hotwire models which, I believe would start throwing code 36? I have found a couple used ones on ebay for $700+, but I'm having a hard time believing that price.
Does anyone know of any new sensors that won't throw any codes and won't cost me an arm and a leg, or anything else I should try first?
Thank you!!
Where did you get your MAF power relay? On my '86, years ago GM had a service bulletin that had both the MAF power relay and the MAF burn-off relay replaced as a pair. 'Not sure if your '87 falls under the same notice, but it's worth researching.
I see what you mean about MAF sensors. There are some very cheap units (Chinese?) and some stupid expensive ones (expensive Chinese
). I got one off my '86 that I no longer need (went MAP F.I.) if you're interested.... I let it go cheap.
