Re: Got it in today!!! (Hawaiian Punch)
Great! Betcha can't wait to put it on the track.
I installed a locking diff in my dad's Dana 44... so something like this shouldn't be too hard right?
Yank the torque tube, unbolt driveshaft, and pull the third member...
It sounds easy on paper.. did you guys run into any trouble, how long did it take?

It wasnt hard, but it did take a while being that it was the first time that we had done something like this on a vette! We started at about 11;00 a.m and completed it at about 5:30 p.m. I think that if we were to do the same job agin, we'd cut the time down to about 2-3 hrs. I dont know if this answers your question. We un bolted the half shafts only on the rearend side, took out the spring and exhaust from the cat on out. the control arms were unbolted and taken off, the drive shaft was also unbolted, the trans brace unbolted, unbolted the "bat wings" pulled and droped down and it was out in no time. We did take an hour brake to pay some bill's and stuff at about noon for and hr and a half. The only problem that I had run in to was that the bolts to conect the bat wings to the other rear end that's now on wouldnt fit in the existing holes, so I had to drill them out in order for the bolts to go all the way through, that was the only hang up for the day. Hope this helps a little.
Have you noticed any seat-of-the-pants difference in responsiveness, off-the-line acceleration etc.? I have 2.59's and want to do a 3.07 sometime in the future...
