Re: Got a question about window washing fluid... (87vette)
The nozzles on the wipers may be clogged or the flexible tubing on the nozzels are off or split. Last but not least, the washer pump may not be working.
Re: Got a question about window washing fluid... (87vette)
Suggest that you disconnect the main hose coming from the washer fluid reservoir and check if fluid comes out of hose when pressing washer switch. (You can also hear pump running if it works.) If no fluid comes out and pump is running, the intake is clogged. I guess after all those years, gunk builds up inside the reservoir. You'll need to remove the washer resevoir and backflush and thoroughly wash it out. I just did it to my '89 when it stopped squirting abruptly.
Re: Got a question about window washing fluid... (87vette)
I see you're in Rochester... pretty darn close to me. With the winter we're having, if this car is your daily driver right now and the wiper fluid just stopped working, I would guess the hoses are frozen. Fill your resevoir (or however you spell it) with boiling water, and pour boiling water over the washer hoses a few times also. The washer fluid on my daily driver mazda hasn't squirted for nearly two months now! One day it warmed up to above freezing, and it worked! But only for a day.... Oh, after they successfully thaw with the water (if that was the problem) I would remove the water from the resivoir with a turkey baster and replacec with washer fluid so it doesn't ice again. Good luck!
Re: Got a question about window washing fluid... (87vette)
Took me about 15mins of actual work to change the washer pump in my '88. The other 45mins was trying to find enough extensions to reach the bottom of the washer tank. The pump is threaded, and slips into the tank where it's secured by the nut. Easy job. Just takes some finagling

Actually no its not my daily driver. I drive a 97 Blazer most of the time now. Last time I driven the Vette was back in July of 02. However we just had a baby girl 4 weeks ago so it looks like I will only be driving the Vette on my own time such as going to the store to get diapers or just for a weekend thing :( But on the plus side it'll keep the wear and tear off the car. :)

Lets say it is the washer pump.. where can I go about getting another one to replace it ? Would it have to be at the GM dealer ?? , and how much would a new cost since you say you replaced yours ?
Re: Got a question about window washing fluid... (JCAIRE2)
Sounds like a good deal. I was afraid it would cost something of a headlight motor or power antenna motor. Its hard to find things at good prices these days. But I definitly will get it if I need to. Thanks for letting me know. :seeya
