Hey guys, so this has been happening for a while and forgot about it until recently since its starting to rain now. When I turn my wipers on, be it the delay mode or the low/high speed modes, the wipers operate correctly. However when I shut off the wipers completely on the switch, the wipers won't actually shut off. They keep running. The only way I can get them to turn off and "park" is if I turn the vehicle off and back on. As soon as I do that, the wipers finish their swipe and then go into the park mode. I know there is a park switch in the motor housing, but not sure if that is an item that can be replaced or if I need a new motor/assembly? Any ideas/help is appreciated. Its a 93', base.
Thanks!
i have not tried with a C4 wiper motor but have cleaned contacts on other GM cars with good results. You only choices are repair or replace. If repair fails then replace

Right on, i'll pull out the motor assembly and see whats up. I noticed that the problem seems intermittent, but for the most part they never park themselves. So hopefully just some dirty contacts. Appreciate the reply
Ok the Correct thing to do is to pull the motor at least the front cover clean and lubricate, But there is a side hack that has worked for me.
Get a can of PB Blaster Not WD40 (WD40 gets sticky when baked) pull the plugs from the side & Front get the tube from the can past foam sponge that seals the plug ports give a 5 second blast to each port. Replug and cycle the wipers they should free up. The problem is that the wiper motor and park switch are installed with a grease, over time the grease becomes thick and stiff from baking next to the valve cover.
I took mine apart and cleaned it, ifs been flawless since. But iirc the park switch is on the other side of the board, and I had to cut the tops of the pins to get it out. I just used superglue to hold the board to the plastic pins.
