Default Idle falls off

Recently purchased a 91 L-98 6-spd stick vert. w/20k miles stock. Cherry! Runs great 95% of the time however, after starting it about 4-5 times in a day, it won't hold an idle. If I shut it down and restart, sometimes it goes back to idle. Usually happens when well warmed up.

Sounds like the IAC needs to be cleaned / reset. Any codes?

Disconnect the MAP. and see if it runs any better. IF no change, I'd pull the IAC and clean it and the TB. Easy to do and doesn't cost anything but the price of a can of TB cleaner. If you pull the TB off the intake to clean, then add the price of a new gasket. :D

Because there are no codes in the computer, is it possible that a code will post during the problem (idle falling off) and then reset itself when the car is restarted? Could this be an EGR related problem? Thanks.
