Stacking bins and file size question
So why is the original program 16kb (byte or bit), and yes I changed file type to .bin ??? What is the load layout button for, it always says invalid file !!! I was trying to load 87C4bin.bin using the load layout button .
I am now worried that the SSTSF512 is not 32 times larger than the original file and it should have been 64 ????? I guess I will have to try and put the file on the chip to find out.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

When using a 27SF512 eeprom instead of a 27C128, you want the 16 KB bin file to be programmed to reside at the bottom address range of the chip (between addresses 0xC000 and 0xFFFF). Everything between 0x0000 and 0xBFFF is irrelevant to the ecm.
Just load your 16 KB bin file to the buffer and write to C000-FFFF on the device (27SF512 eeprom).
You could stack your 16 KB bin file 4 times to create a 64 KB file and write the whole thing to 0x0000 to 0xFFFF if you want (if your programmer software is screwy and doesn't provide enough flexibility otherwise). Maybe I don't understand the problem?
"A 27SF512 eeprom is a 64 KB chip (not 512 KB)." Bingo, that was it, my brain allowed a number to fool me because 512 was a multiple of chip memory.
Yes, the GQ4x4 software has (that I can see) NO flexibility on stacking.
I am curious about something else, in these bins I have always looked at "# of cylinders" I always thought it was because some of these were used in 6 cylinders and I should see 8, but the values in those locations on my 3 different bins are; nothing on one and 48 on the other two. Just curious ??
And another if you have time, injector flows rates from bin to bin are a massive difference, one said 23.** #ph and the other said 1.24 #ph , what is single and double fire ?? I know that is a lot to ask.
Thanks for all your help you have given me over the last year
Thanks again for all your help.
