My one skeptical thing is, Why would you only go from a 3.45 to a 3.73??? What a waste of $300 bucks, go to 4.10s :yesnod:

Guys,
That program is fairly accurate, most of it is juct simple math calculations to get the Speed for your said RPM. I made that program to help me decide what gears I wanted to use when I did my 6spd conversion. It is basically for cruising RPM/ speed. I had checked it against my car when the Auto/ 3.07 was in it and also with the 6spd/ 3.45
The ratio's for the 4+3 and the ZF6 are correct. the 700r4 listed was from my 89. If you have Ratio's for a different Trans I think it is set-up for you to add them. I did that program in 1996 and re-did it in 1999 when I lost the source code and made it a bit different.
Still a better way to determine you ration is by hand turning the driveshaft and counting the tire rotations. I thought after I made that I would put it on my website for anyone to use. I also figured it was not something everyone would like. but at least it is free :D

Re: Guess What I just found out about my car......! (Darkness)
is there a way to check if its an automatic?
Its quite simple, you'll have to get on all fours and look at the tranny and ask if she has 4 or 6 gears, if she says 4 its an auto if 6 its a manual, but sometimes they get moody and wont answer so better check some other way, maybe build sheet will say

What was the originall gearing ratio for the Rear end of an 84? I've got 3.54;s and I'm cruising at 65 in 4th at abvout 2Krpm with that gear, I wonder how fast the engine would be spinning with originall gears? Idle?
Also with 3.54's how much can I see an increase of acceleration to 60 time? The specs say 6.6 to 60 but it sure as hell doesnt fell like 6.6 :yesnod:

I've heard in a 4sp auto, put the car in "D"(3rd gear), accelerate to 70 mph, the tach will read what the gear ratio is. I.E.---70 mph, tach reads 30 or 31, gear ratio = 3.0x

I dont find that accurate because you still have to factor in your Circumfrence of the Tire. Sya 26inch OD tire travels 6.8ft per revolution. The say your in 3rd gear 1:1 and spinning at 3000rpm and you have 3.5 rear gear( All Examples) then you would be going 66.xx MPH. And then if you have 4th gear which is .7:1 ratio then you would be going 94.6x MPH at 3000rpm with tha rear gear and tire size :yesnod:

The easiest way to tell if your vette is an automatic is to count the number of pedals. Two = automatic Three=Stick.
Sorry I was just kidding......
