1990 Corvette aftermarket horn problem.
I have a 1990 Corvette coupe with 17,000 miles. Hated the stock steering wheel, so went with a VSW three spoke that I really like. Only had one wire (with the small spring) going to clock spring. Followed directions by hooking this wire to center post on new horn button. The horn stays on constantly when connected. Took the wire off and the horn comes on when turning the wheel. I think it has to be grounded although not mentioned in the directions. Any suggestions? I also noted that the 4" steering wheel adapter is tight against the clock spring causing hard steering. Are there spacers available or does the clock spring have to be eliminated. Now that I think about it, that's probably the entire problem.
