Need help with 85 C4 driver side window regulator upgrade
So less than a month after buying my C4 my driver side window regulator broke. Before I bought it, the dealer fixed it, but not well enough I guess I sent if back for them to fix, but they were horrible with communication, and 1 whole month passes and I just took the car back an decide I'll do it myself. I bought a used later model window regulator from Dino's, and now it is in, but the back of the window is too high and the front is too low. We spent about 1 hour trying to adjust it, and we tried flipping the front stop plate, but obviously that didn't work. It was getting really late, and ready to called, then I saw this part...
Is this what will stop the rear of the window for going up too far? or am I missing a part because I bought a used regulator.
Anything helps. Thank you.

and he does mention that part. I'm gonna attempt to reassemble tomorrow, but if anyone has any other insight let me know. My only sources for this project was that video and corvette magazine's guide https://www.corvettemagazine.com/198...grade-install/
I just went through this two days ago on my passenger side. Yes, that is an upper limit bar, essentially. One part attaches to the fiberglass door and the other attaches to the silver plate. I would use the previous washer witness marks to get it lined up.
I just did this last weekend in my 92. The 92 has the later regulator, but I am not sure if the other hardware is the same. The part in your picture is the Stabilizer Guide. It goes in after the glass fits the opening properly. In my case the rear of the glass went up too far. I move that guide down, and everything was good again.
See if these will help I took them for you from my 1992 FSM:
