I made a bracket between the alternator and smog pump today and shut the hood. Now it will not pop open on the driver side. It must not have enough clearance between the bracket and the hood. I can’t get the hood open now. The passenger side will pop but not the driver side. I sat on it and bounced up and down while someone pulled the latch with no luck. Help!
UPDATE*** I took the inner fender well out and got the bracket off. The hood opened right up. Yay!!
new problem of the day, I was going to take the wheel off to make more room to work. No such luck, there is a locking nut on the wheel and it did not come with the key. ’85 c4

Did you check the cubby holes behind the seats? Lift out the inserts and look under them. Check inside the center arm rest. Look undere and behind the seats. Another maybe?? spot would be with the jack inside the spare tire rim.
Can you ask the prior owner? I am sure the tires have been changed by now.
As far as your hood issue you should add some emergency release cables. Lots of info on them just do a search. Clean and lubricate the latches too.

there's tools for opening hoods . Can adjust the cables. They stretch
they make a tool for those lug nut locks with missing keys. it has reverse sharp tapered threads that will bite into the outside of the nut and remove it. Check local parts store or amazon

Hood will not open
