I have a 383 stroker that I'm working on right now. The engine has Dart Pro Aluminum 200CC heads with Crower steel rolling rockers. I have the Accel performance intake, 24 pound injectors, adjustable fuel regulator, TPI full length headers, and a custom burned chip. I am going to buy the lingenfelter intake from JEGS tonight for $780. I am also taking out my 2:70 gears wednesday. I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake. I want the car fast, real fast. The car doesn't have to be a dailey driver but I would like to drive it three or so times a week. Is this setup up going to be too much, meaning, Will the car not be streetable. A quick reply would be appreciated since I am ordering my parts tonight or early tomorrow. Engine should be running by Saturday. :flag
Your talking about an addictive element.. Power. IMHO you will always want more! Kindda like in the bible "A mans eyes are never satisfied." :yesnod: You have 8 post today... I will give you until post 250. I am sure you will be discussing NOS or a blower by then
well it sounds like you have all the standard-issue go-fast parts for speed. What will make it or break it is your cam selection; which I recommend that you consult the guys at CompCams, Crane, and Isky. Tell them what kind of stuff you have, what you want from the car (idle, powerband, etc) and they will probably be able to give you the most help.
I trusted Compcams myself and have been delighted. Then again, I'm a intellectual and have to contract out all the complicated decision-making! :p:
PS it also depends on what you mean by "streetable." Judging from your list, smog is not an issue?
What cam are you going with? Id go with the Accel/LPE 219 with that combo, its proven. You wouldnt need 3.73s with that either, you wouldnt get any gain from them.
But you could pick a cam that would need them, I wouldnt though.
I forgot to put in the cam. I have a custom Schneider cam. Here are some numbers off the cam card they gave me. Intake Camlift .320, exhaust .320. Duration at 0.50 is 210 at intake and 216 at exhaust. Valve lift .480, 264 duration at intake, and .480, 274 exhaust. Hope these numbers mean something to somone.
The car has illegal headers on it, but I always pass smog because the car is always tuned and burns extremely clean. All the smog equipment is still on the car and functioning.
my stock 95 has 3.73 gears in it and it is very quick compared to my old 90 which had 3.07 gears. I still get about 18 mi. per gal and I can't keep my foot out of it!
