Default Doug Nash cooled valve help

Hey guys I have a 1988 c4 corvette with a an earlier Doug Nash with the tv cable. My cooler valve was leaking and I attempted to replace the valve with the 88 4+3 one I have(same cooler). However when I attempted to replace the cooler I was unable to put it back on due to the fact that nothing seemed to line up? If I connected the rear hose first I was unable to thread the two holding bolts down, if I did the bolts first I couldn’t get the pipe on,I spent about an hour attempting to figure it out but I couldn’t. does anyone have any idea on how to get the cooler on properly? Maybe with heat or by bending the line a little?

As far as I can recall there's no difference in the block it's just a solid piece of aluminum cut and drilled so to replace when the only thing that could leak is the O-Ring or the fitting.
Have you tried the old block with a new O-Ring with everything loose once the treads are started then could be snugged up

Yes, they are the exact same down to the washers ect. the O ring wasn’t leaking it was originally the nut on block that connects to the rear hard line. My newer block has a brand new o ring but when I thread the back line(red) I can’t thread in the bolts circled in blue. It looks like they end up too far forward. But if I thread the blue bold fist and leave the red line loose the thread keeps slipping and pushing the line out

Sounds like you're angle is off that's why I would leave the block loose just a few threads into the transmission all pipes loose get all parts to start then snug up. I know you're pain because I lived it a few times but thankfully on the bench while rebuilding the OD
