just recieved my new mufflers from ansa. took the car to perf shop and the mechanic said that these strait through mufflers would be more restrictive than the stock ones. because these are 2 1/2 compared to stock 2 3/4 and also in the inlet side of the ansa's it does choke down to less than 2 1/2 i.d. have mufflers back in box and waiting for reply from ansa. any ideas or suggestions from any body would be appreciated.
Re: yet another muffler question????????? (POLO94C4)
i have the same question---anyone know if itll make any difference? also how much louder than stock is a set of aftermarket mufflers. i ordered the hooker aero chambers.
I just ordered the Borla 2.5 inch rear Y pipe and was planning on installing the Hooker Aeros. Just saw the post that they are very loud. Any body out there have any experience with them.
Also, to avoid the exorbitant cost of Corvette specific mufflers, I was planning to buy the $59 dollar units and adapting them. But I ain't crazy about real loud.
Re: yet another muffler question????????? (POLO94C4)
i just got the hooker aero's installed and they are great sounding. they are really throaty below 2500rpm but after that they dont make much more noise than stock. dont buy the generic ones though buy the dircet fit like i did. mine were difficult enough to install youll never have it right if you just buy the regular aero chambers.
