Default yet another muffler question?????????

just recieved my new mufflers from ansa. took the car to perf shop and the mechanic said that these strait through mufflers would be more restrictive than the stock ones. because these are 2 1/2 compared to stock 2 3/4 and also in the inlet side of the ansa's it does choke down to less than 2 1/2 i.d. have mufflers back in box and waiting for reply from ansa. any ideas or suggestions from any body would be appreciated.

Take the mufflers off, put on Hooker resonator tips. Total cost including labor $160. Looks great, sounds great. What more could you ask for? :D

I don't know much about the Ansa system, but I have Corsa's which are 2.5" pipe I think, and the car definitely picked up some hp over stock.

The Summit # is HOK-21432 but they are back ordered.
Here's the link to the Hooker site with part #s and pics .. I used the 21432 on my 94 LT1 http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...SHHT/Euro.html

I just ordered the Borla 2.5 inch rear Y pipe and was planning on installing the Hooker Aeros. Just saw the post that they are very loud. Any body out there have any experience with them.
Also, to avoid the exorbitant cost of Corvette specific mufflers, I was planning to buy the $59 dollar units and adapting them. But I ain't crazy about real loud.

If you have a stock LT1 exhaust, take a good look at where the tip meets the muffler, you'd be surprised how much the diameter reduces.

i just got the hooker aero's installed and they are great sounding. they are really throaty below 2500rpm but after that they dont make much more noise than stock. dont buy the generic ones though buy the dircet fit like i did. mine were difficult enough to install youll never have it right if you just buy the regular aero chambers.
