Opti Code 36, 1993 with 96 Vented Opti

Opti Code 36, 1993 with 96 Vented Opti
Had a code 36 en route to work.
Checked all plugs to and from Opti.
Clean, and all had dielectric grease to boot.
Connector at opti, behind water pump, had a little dirty grease and clip to hold it in place was gone.
I will address the dirty connector and clip when I get home. I think I have spare harness.
I will also check for ref 5volt at purple white wire at harness under fuel injector cover.
No water leaks.
Anything else I can do?
Symptoms I may have neglected over time. I have had a slight stumple cruising between 45 to 55 in 4th (I did torque converter lock up changes and timing changes via reburning eprom with many test n tunes). May have been opti showing its age.
Age, at least 15 years of relatively low mileage due to work, travel.
It was a OEM opti.
PS, i use a delteq ignition system, so is Code 36 hi res a serious issue, or is the Code 16 more serious.
