Knock Sensor
I first bought the car a year ago with the stock engine in at and when i would put it in to a low gear like 3rd or 4th and push the pedal down a bit it would make a ping and the check engine light would come on. It would throw me a code for the knock sensor circuit so it was replaced so the problem presisted. Now that i have a new engine in it, it still does the same thing just curious on the possibilities of what it could be?

It may be the ESC module (located inside the right rear fender well near the blower motor); if so there is an upgrade P/N on my site.
Our ('85-'89) knock sensor feeds the knock signal into the ESC module which then relayes it to the ECM. Later L98s (beginning in '90) fed the knock sensor signal directly into the ECM.
