Superram BAD for nitrous????
Well a buddy of mine has run the superram with nitrous for years..He said that cylinders 1 and 3 were always lean and under a 150 shot it would take out those cylinders....Anyone heard bad things like this about the superram??? He suggested bigger injectors for those cylinders??? Anyone have problems with 150 + shots?????

Over 150 and you should be looking into direct plumbing. The big scare is getting nitrous puddling in the intake. One backfire and the lid goes sky high. I've heard many horror stories, yet also have seen many people use it w/o issue.

Re: (scorp508)
So a 150 is safe??? I want to eventually run a 175 shot...
seems like the 90 degree turn for 1 & 3 that those would run a little lean...

Re: (scorp508)
the 85's forged pistons might handle it, I still wouldnt go that high without a proper buildup of the bottom

I thought the 85 had cast hypereutectic pistons, not forged?

Re: (vader86)
'85 had forged internals..
If it is a DRY system you are pushing your luck.
If it is a Wet system, 150+ shot should be directly plumbed into the intake (Runners for example).
The '85s forget internals should be able to take it, but only as long as you supply adequate fuel to them. Believe me, if you are running original injectors, I'd have them checked fast. I just did mine with 104K miles and 3 were brittle...

Well I dont plan on spraying that much anytime soon...I will be getting a walbro 255 lph within the next couple of weeks. I am not POSITIVE that the motor still has forged pistons. When I pull the heads to put my performer rpms on I will know...
Would be great if it did still have forged...
What is the highest wet shot on a superram without direct port nitrous??? Any of you heard of any problems with a 150 plate style kit???

Re: (JD 90 383)
thanks, it was like that when I bought it. Someone hit it from behind and it messed up the front a lil too...So he just replaced it with the newer stuff.

Hi, I am running a wet 150 hp plate kit from TNT. When I got the plate kit, I had issues with hood clearance, and besides the plate only had 52 mm holes, while I am running a 58 mm tb. So, I had a plate machined for me to fit my 58 mm tb, and instead of nozzles coming in from the top (hood clearance issues) I had them machined to come in at a 45 degree angle coming in from the side almost. Hard to explain, and no pics either. But what I can say about it is WOW. Fast, fast, fast.
I've heard about people talking about puddling issues, but with as much vacuum running through that intake and as much air flow, I don't think puddling will be an issue at all. I'll try to get pictures sometime soon, but I can say right now that my car pulls harder in 4th than my bro's Mustang does in 2nd.

I'm hoping to dyno mine on and off the nitrous to see how much the shot really is. I have heard that with TNT , if you want a 150 shot, you get more, so it will be interesting to see how much nitrous I am actually getting.
