Default 1984 auto VSS

need some help, cluster isnt reading speedometer (stuck at zero) and when i sent cluster away the guy said it wasnt the cluster and is most likely the vss, i see alot of websites claiming to be the right vss for a 1984 auto but i want the right oem replacement that will just be bolt on. i really dont want to spend the money on the wrong part. links and or part number is greatly appreciated and prefered over "this website makes one thats pretty good" or "just find a replacement for gm # 123456" just need a solid answer from someone whos been around that block. thank you!

This is my stock sensor from my 1984 th700r4. I don't see many numbers on there and nothing similar to a GM part number.
"AC" is AC-Delco.
"40 45"
"0385" possibly.

The sensor is a rotating magnet and a coil with about 400 ohms.
I switched over to measuring AC voltage and by turning shaft by hand it was easy to reach 1 Volt.

I think the sensor is failry robust. There could be some wiring problem. Both sesnor wires go directly to the cluster.
So you should be able to measure 400 ohms at the cluster connector between pins C15 and D11.

If the resistance measures within range it could aslo be a problem with the small plastic drive gears, one on the sensor and one on the output shaft.
