Behind the panel (expected) but you can Jockey the glass into place and loose the mount bolts and the mount will probably slide to a better position. Also look inside the door to see if anything is laying in the bottom of the door. I got a very nice electric screwdriver
There also might be a stop in the door in the later car. But most just settle onto a rubber pad
