When I get my engine back to "normal" I was wondering about nitrous since the SC thing didn't work well! I have no knowledge of nitrous so I'm looking to those who do know about it. With my engine set up (see my sig.) what system should i get? How much of a shot would you get? What would you use if your in my shoes?? Any advice would be great. Thanks guys!!
Well with the stainless valves and forged pistons I would say you could run a 150 shot all day. I do :D
Do a search on the forum there is a lot of info on nitrous. For any other questions go to web sites for nitrous system makers. They usually have a faq section. If you have a specific question feel free to ask. I have used the stuff for a few years and think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
I say 150 all day with your setup. Get a Wet system. I think about 95% of the nitrous user on this forum use this setup including me. NX gets my vote, but NOS and TNT are proven as well. Both NOS and NX have lifetime parts.
Ok, thanks for all the info. Could anyone give me a est. of what kind of perf. difference that would give me. What do you think I could run e.t. and mph!! Is this the only other option left for me I guess!!
Technically speaking, with a 100shot it should run 10s. But as you probably know, it's not that easy, many factors will come into play. What kind of times are you running with your LPE 383? IF your times are anywhere near JD or Beach Bums then I think you should run low 11s to high 10s. If you use a NX maximizer then I would say for sure high 10s. at close to 130mph.
BTW: Not trying to make fun or anything but hole shot is spelled without the W.
I didn't really find any good pics of a NX wet system with a Superram. I would really like to see this. How much does this setup/system run roughly?? I would love to get into the high 10's!! That is my goal basically, I guess I should have done this route in the first place!
on a built engine, 150 is easy...and the "150 shot" that is rated with the kit can actually be more than that when pushing it through a stroker motor. just remember not to hit it in first gear, or you'll be buying some new rubber :yesnod:
Heck, I don't need the nitrous to know i will need new skins....the motor alone can lite em up with ease!! I will be starting the rebuild soon i hope. Still have to fig. out what to do with the oil pan, i.e. get new one or get fitting welded up, etc
