Default 1987 Corvette - Identify Broken Line

Changing spark plugs, and when #1 let loose, I broke this line. Looks like it might be fuel related? I was just going to electrical tape it. Anyone know what it is and if I should not electrical tape it? Thanks!

If you're gonna just patch it up rather than replace, I think it's best to cut a small length of regular rubber vacuum hose and connect the broken section with it. Just slide the rubber hose over each broken end to create a straight connection. Only need a couple inches of hose to reconnect that way.

That'll keep vacuum in the mean time.

Tape isn't gonna cut it there.

Looks like the vacuum line that connects to your EGR solenoid, though...

FYI, that looks like a vacuum line for the charcoal canister (see image that Natty C posted). It is attached to a check valve on top of the canister as representative of the circle on the large circle in the aforementioned picture.

Thanks everybody! I noticed that the line already had a dodgy repair in another place, so I just put a piece of heat shrink on there for now. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might replace the line in the future, but it should work for now!

You can replace every one of those old, brittle plastic hoses with new rubber ones in under a half hour.

And an exercise that is totally worth it because vacuum leaks are a huge pain in the ***.
