1992 C4 Base model 12V no power
Hello everyone! I am a new owner of a 1992 C4 corvette. One of the first things I noticed with the car is the fact that the 12V socket does not work, which was a very fun thing to find out on a 5 hour drive back home.
I assumed it was a simple matter of the fuse being blown, it's happened to me before on my other cars. I replaced the fuse, but still nothing however.
After that I disassembled the center console to do some investigating (as I had a sneaking suspicion that something had been done to it since there is an aftermarket stereo in place), and indeed the socket connector was cut off from the back and the socket was just loose in the trim piece.
I bought a new socket and crimped it to the orange/black wires, replaced the fuse again just in case, but alas still nothing. I even tried to touch the wires together to cause a short/blow the fuse (I don't have a voltmeter don't judge me) but they have no power going to them at all it seems.
Does anyone have experience dealing with a similar issue? What are my options here and what do you think I should try?
