Windshield shakes/rattles-need advice
I have a 1993 LT-1. Whenever I go over bumps of any size, the windshield on the passenger side (only that side) shakes and rattles as if it is coming apart, or not bolted in. Any ideas?

Stand outside the car. Reach in and press on the windshield outward. If you can see movement, you've got a problem. Go up and down along the edge including the bottom.
If the glass moves then the urethane is not affixed to the glass, or the last installer might have used butyl to install the windshield, another no-no.
If there is no movement, then you frame is flexing so much parts surrounding the glass are rubbing on the glass. At that point it is gonna take some jerry rigging to get it to stop.

First off, welcome to the forum. Does the windshield actually move? See if you can get it to move by pushing on it (not hard) from inside and out. If not, start checking the surrounding moldings and fittings. Some of the screws in the pillar moldings may be loose. If it does, you will need professional help. The windshield may need to be reset. I see you are from Burlington. You can go to Alamance Glass on Alamance Road. Can't speak for their Vette expertise, but they did good work on my sons truck. Another choice may be Bisswanger (sp) on Church Street. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I went to one of the local Chevy dealers and the say it's just a missing "hood bumper" and alignment pin bushing. Total parts cost only $11.06. Will have them installed Tuesday and hope they were right!

I replaced my glass top with a solid one, adjusted the mounting brackets (as per Scorp's tip) and allmost all of my rattles went away. night and day difference.

Please let me know if that fixed your rattle! i have that exact same dreadful rattle on my 93 !!!! the passenger side as well. I cant seem to figure out whether or not it comes from the dash level or the top corner of the windhsield I took the dash off and tightened everything... still nothing.. i took off the roof and all the surrounding plastic panels around the windshield frame and even tried to stick old socks into the frame holes to see if maybe it was something inside (lol).. still nothing. it is the one rattle that really annoys me. Oh and i tried adjusting the hood stops... nothing.
Im hoping the r-d x brace and camber brace + a 6 point cage will tighten things up, and especially get rid of that rattle.

The hood bumper worked! The rattle is gone. It is basically a longish bolt with a rubber head on it. I will send you the part number if interested.

I would definitely like the part # if possible. Is it the piece under the hood with the rubber pad on the bottom?? I tightened everything but it seems it didnt help. Ill replace anything i can get my hands on. Im planning on changing the windhsield just to fix this rattle.
