Default Anyone recognize this shim?

That just fell out of the dash onto my foot in my 86.
Didn't have any luck with the PN in Google.

Closest thing I could find that looks like that with an Internet search...

But not for a Corvette.

Interesting, this one is quite a bit smaller than that Jeep striker shim though. Amusing how much they look alike.

What is the center-to-center dimension of the slots? OR width of the slots and the dimension of the divider, a C4 is mostly Metric spec so Metric dimensions might be preferred. Does the other side of it display some more relevant 'witness' marks?

56.4
28.03
28.3 center to center

Or pretty near it.

Has to be from the driver side of the dash, not really any conclusive witness marks despite it being soft aluminum. Looks like adhesive residue on both sides.

Somebody may have just pulled something out of their shop drawer that ''worked'' for whatever they may have been trying to ''make work.''

I've done stuff like that. Pretty much everybody has, I think.

True enough. It looks like a GM part number on it but I think it's one of those that isn't in any of the usual parts catalogs. Or could be coincidence.

I don't have a clutch master spacer to confirm but ironically that part number is very similar and in sequence of spacer and correct bolt. 14066450 is bolt and 14066452 is the spacer. Maybe a GM assembly/alignment device of sorts?

I saw that too when I was google'ing but I can't see where it would go on the clutch master, the spacing is too narrow for the bolts and there's no hole for the rod.
I did however just replace that thing (again) the other day but it's not ringing a bell laying there looking at it.

Nah, checked that too. Not near big enough and they have their own little retaining clips. Good thought though!
