I just pulled this code off the computer, which explains why my car isn't running... :nonod:
Is this sort of problem fixable or do I require a new MAF sensor? Where should I look and what should I try?
Thanks in advance. :seeya
Yeah, I pulled the harness off and shot it down with some electrical cleaner and inspected the tangs. Everything looks in order there.
The car sputtered and almost ran with the MAF assembly off...
This is after I sprayed down the throttle body with some cleaner. It was nasty in there. Could there be crap on my MAF wires (i.e. K&N oil)?? I just did filter service a few days before it died. If so, what should I try to clean with?
I think I'm going to hit up Jeg's and pop on a replacement to see if that works. If not, I guess I'll be digging through wires this evening. :U
Replaced the MAF sensor: no good...
Attempted to start the car, and pulled another code before the whole thing died on me owing to dead battery. This time it said "Absolute Throttle Position," and the throttle position indicator stopped registering.
Now I'm really confused, so I gave up. It's going in for service. :cry
I had an intermittent code 34 showing up last year. Instead of replacing the MAF I tried replacing the burnoff and power relays first. That turned out to be the problem and it only cost me about $20 to fix. The relays are behind the battery on the firewall. It was also a very easy fix which is welcome after struggling with some of the other things that break on these cars.
Service guy called and told me the fuel pump is dead????
Now I'm really confused... But if it gets the car going, I'll do it.
Any ideas? :skep:
