Tonight I decided to drive my vette b/c it snowed last weekend and I waited all week to drive it b/c of the sand on the roads, It does stay outside so it has seen alot of snow and rain this week. Tonight I drive my car for about ten minutes and I shifted into fourth going about 32mph and it starts to studer a lil then stops. I kept driving and it started to do it alot more in all the gears besides first. espcially at low rpms. It was raining tonight. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the car, could water be in the engine, I say that b/c in the fall I sprayed the engine really good (too good) and it started to studer some when I drove it and then it went away after about twenty minutes of driving. I have a couple time tank the gas level all the way down before filling it up so I dont know if that could of messed the fuel pump up. Any opinions would be great, I wish I did not drive it tonight, this has ruined my night. :cry currently I have 47,000 miles on my car and its a six speed no mods besides exhaust if that helps.
Another thing is that I have digital climate controls and ever since I blew the fuse in my cigarate lighter the light on the climate control blinks for awahile then goes back to being a solid green like normal. Any Ideas
You could try checking all you sensors; inlet air temp, throttle position, coolant temp, intake manifold pressure, etc. If the ECM is getting the wrong signal from a sensor it will command the wrong fuel flow. Also check for vacuum leaks or fuel delivery issues (possible clogged fuel filter or dirty injectors). I was told by a knowledgable individual that intermittent stumbling is a fuel command/supply issue.
I am currently having a stumbling issue at low rpms. I replaced fuel filter (no effect). Replace spark plug wires (no effect - they were old anyways and need replacing - plugs and opti are relatively new). I am checking my sensors this weekend.
Thanks I will take your advice and let you know what I find out and post it on the site. It sounds like you have one nice 92 6spd. I plan also to put 17x11 on the rear of my car. Thanks Again
93BlkRose,
Thanks. It's still a work-in-progress and will be for quite awhile.
I would be interested to see what you find. If I find anything of value I will post it.
One thing I have discovered from the stumbling incident that started this week is the need to get a data scan software for my laptop (like Datamaster). It would help so much.
Ok its really weriod now because the car runs great, after that night I waited a day for it to stop raining and eversince then it drives awsome. So I am not sure what happened now.
