Source for 84-87 headlight motor brushes?

Source for 84-87 headlight motor brushes?
Anyone know where you can get sets of brushes for 84-87 three wire motors? How about the newer two wire type? I have emailed and called all kinds of places and they have entire motors, but not brush kits.

There are several companies that make motor brushes and if you give them the dimensions of the brush, they should be able to provide replacements. It has been a long time since I bought brushes, but google should help.

I've noticed that Mid America and others have a complete kit to upgrade the early headlight assy. to '87 up....seems like a good idea, but a bit pricey....has anyone done this???

The coversion kits are about $500. It is cheaper to do the electrical upgrade yourself. Even if you buy rebuilt 3 wire motors at $150 each, it is still cheaper than the catalog kit price. Most motors should be in good shape IF you could replace the brushes.
