Buttons on dash dont work
Hello all,
in my 92 corvette, the button section that changes the information on the LCD screen dont seem to work. This is the button section with the “Gauges” and “Fuel info” buttons. All buttons dont seem to work. I can’t change from MPH to KMH which is a inconvinience since i live in europe. Climate control buttons seem to work without issues. I already checked the fuses. What could be the issue?

Hi,
I remember having seen a thread where a user was having similar issues, I can't find it anymore but the solution was to unmount the DIC + button side assembly and clean up the contacts of the main connector.
There was a lot of green corrosion on the contacts.

You can disassemble the button assembly and clean the contact membranes with alcohol (?). I don't remember exactly what chemical I used, but I successfully restored the button operation with just a cleaning. Once the button/DIC assembly is removed, the cleaning itself isn't fussy.
