WAY too often now, I can no longer read my gauges well enough to be useful (Cataracts) so I was looking up various kits to replace our GM provided set with retro analog gaugse. Do any of you have any experience with them. Here is an example from Speedway New Vintage 90110-03 Performance II Gauges 90-96C4 Corvette White
I'd have someone without cataracts look at it. It could also just be the polarizing film going bad. I replaced the polarizing film in my gauges, made a HUGE difference.
They also have one that keeps the original orange background and black lettering. I liked the flipped one more. Before replacement you basically couldn't read it, there wasn't no contrast between the background and the display digits. Two films fixed it.
It is a little involved to do. Not hard, but fiddly.
Many C4 '90 - '96 have issues. You might consider a 'refurbish' of yours by Bryan or someone else. A first check for you might be KEY ON, Engine OFF where does your tach needle park? Key on, engine off tach should park at ' 0 '. If yours does now, you're fortunate. If it doesn't consider having Bryan (Batee) correct all of your issues at one time.
My wife had both eyes done a year ago. She wishes she had done so sooner. She had some eye correction at the same time. Piece of cake. She is very happy. Dan
Good decision. I’ve had both of mine done and I can best describe the surgery as trivial. I had a mole removed that caused me more discomfort.
As for the gauges, my Batee reverse speedo film arrived yesterday. It does look like a fiddly process, but I’m looking forward to being able to read this in daylight.
