Just checking. I am putting in a Hot Cam, my shop manual and Chilton’s says to torque the rockers to 18 ft lbs. Any contradicting comments? Any other comments?

Just make sure the lifter is on the base circle of the cam and torque away :)
Since you're performing your own mods, I highly recommend you purchase the Helm Factory Service Manual. If you search the web, you can usually find them used for ~$50 or $60. You'll be surprised at how much info you're missing out on.
Do you have an LT4 or did you install an LT4 HOT cam kit? The kit comes with 3/8 adjustable rockers, you lash them like any other small block rocker. If you have the stock LT4 rockers that come only on LT4 Vettes from the factory then you do the 18 ft*lbs torque routine.
I just finished the Hot Cam install on my LT4 about 36 hours/30 miles ago. I used the helms manual. With top dead center on number one (it doesn't matter whether exhausting or compressing as long as you pay attention to what the lifters are telling you as to whether there is lift), adjust half of them according to the manual sequence, rotate the crank 360 degrees and do the other half. Mine makes no valve clatter and purrs like a little kitty. 2/3 of the time doing the install should be for cleaning and keeping clean those things that are clean. Take your time and enjoy.
Thanks for the comments. I have a helms manual and it is a life saver. Also I have a chiltons which complements it. I am fortunate to have the front clip off my car to do this, I can only imagine what a pain in the butt it is with the clip on. Things are going smoothly, I am up to pulling the cam which will come out tomorrow. Any problems with putting the O rings on.? You can use a pen tip from a marker to slip to use as a sleeve to slip over the water shaft splines. Thanks
