has any racer using slp converter noticed gains in there 60ft & 1/4 mile times, looking for advise before getting one. 13.17 @ 104 mph :chevy :chevy hoping on 12.70's this year :U
Any looser TC will lower your 60' time. I don't have any comparasion between stock, S-10 and SLP, but both the S-10 and SLP will lower your 60" time. The problem with the S-10 is that it lacks torque multiplication, it just slips like a mother and dumps excessive heat into the trans.
If you have a few extra bucks, go with the Yank or Hughes, that's what I'd do if I was doing my Impala all over again.
Not sure what the difference is between s-10 and the slp but i have just fitted an s-10 and headers to my 90
The converter does slip more noticibly than a std one,but if you keep it in D its not bad. first time out i picked up 3 tenths my 60 is still not that good (1.84) due to lack of traction but i went 12.6@109. i think there are another 2 tenths in my 1/4 time yet on a well prepped track.
