Last Sunday I was driving my 95 home after picking up window screening from Home Depot and it just stopped running. Pulled to the side of the road and it would just crank with no indication of firing. First thing that came to mind was opti- spark but the SES light never came on. Also thought of the fuel pump. It was too noisy on road side to hear if pump did run to prime.
Of course sitting on side of road I had no access to my fuel pressure gauge and code reader. Called AAA and had it towed to garage I use for my vehicles. Was originally going to have it dropped at my house so I could play with it but decided garage was best in case it was something that needed diagnostic equipment I don't have.
Now the mystery is that when they went to start it Monday it fired right up and ran perfect. They allowed it to run for about 15 minutes without issue until they turned the A/C on it just died. It was getting late in the day when they did this so didn't have time to do any diagnostic testing. Told them to play with it for a few days and we'd talk about end of the week. I will add that when it died on me the A/C was running.
Any thoughts from any of you as to what the issue may be? Prior to this issue it was running perfect.
Turns out the fuel pump was crapping out. I was bitten by the replacement parts can't be trusted to be quality anymore. I had replaced it less then 2 years ago and bad already. I might have to start carrying a spare since it seems all replacement parts can't be trusted anymore. I'm happy however that is wasn't the Opti (oops, did I just jinx Myself?)

I just replaced a slew of parts (sensors, t-stat, etc,) on my '96. I tried to stick with all AC Delco parts wherever possible. I know...those parts aren't perfect and fail too, but I tend to have more confidence in them because for me, they seem more reliable.
It may be beneficial to invest in an official GM Parts Catalogue for your 1995 corvette. I did this for my 1985 Corvette and it is still very valuable to me to this day. Having the correct GM parts number in hand as a starting point will certainly help in your searches for the correct parts. However, as we all know, sometimes parts from GM are discontinued, but still helpful if used parts are the only option besides aftermarket.
