Default 93 shuts off while driving.

Hadn't had my car out for weeks. It's a nice day so we go out to run a few errands. About 5 minutes into the drive it just shuts off. No missing, just stops. Still coasting so I push in the clutch and try to restart. Motor spins but doesn't even try to fire. I get it towed home and by the time I'm home (less than an hour) it starts up and I drive it into the garage. I let it run in the garage until up to temperature. No missing and no codes. It acts like a heat induced electrical issue but I don't think it'd the opti. I'm thinking maybe ICM or ECU.

Aw man. What a downer. And only 5 minutes into the drive, too? You were just getting going.

That happened to me once. I hd to push it into a BJ's. Thankfully it drifted quite a ways into the entrance and then somebody else who happened to be going into the store jumped on it with me while it was moving and we got it into a section of the empty lot.

I popped the hood and looked around for a few minutes. Got back in the car and sat there for a bit thinking, wtf, man. About 5 inuteslater, I cranked it and it started. So I dropped the hood and got back in to head home and couldn't find my sunglasses. I popped the hood and there they were. Crushed. They were sitting in the middle of where the hood pin catches. I liked those sunglasses, too.

Anyway, it only happened just that once and that was several years ago. Never happened again. Now, of course, I've just done full tuneups and whatnot since then. Redid the fuel delivery system, too.

Yeah, agree, could definitely be the ignition control module. That's a classic sign of failure. That's the first thing that comes to mind to me.

Definitely clean up and put new thermal transfer paste on the icm, though, when ''checking'' it. Or just outright replace it.

Autozone used to test the ICM. They would test it like three times to heat it up and see if it failed. Maybe they can still test them.
