'95 exhaust necked down ?!
What's up with that? My stock exhaust is 2 3/4" pipe all the way back to the mufflers where it necks down to 2 1/2 just before the muffler and right after it in the tip. Why not make the pipe 2 1/2 all the way back?

All LT1/4 had the 2.75" OD, 2.5" ID exhaust system that necks down to almost 2.0" ID at a couple of points. That's how the factory made 'em, I suppose it's cost related.

Bigger diamter pipes also will create a distinct sound, and make it quieter. I think thats why chevy had mufflers with the 2.25 inch bottlenecks, but made the pipes 2 3/4. Plus it looks better from the rear view. :steering:
