Default Yank Stall Converter

Is the Yank 3000 just as good as the Vigilante 2800? The Yank is around $550 and the Vigilante is around $685. What are the main differences between the torque converters? I see most C5 guys use the Yank, must be for some reason? Lingenfelters 427 TT uses a Yank ;)

I have a yank stealth 2600 in my 87 Vette. I couldn't tell ya the difference between Vigilante, B&M, or others. But if I were you, I'd just get one that's got at LEAST a 2800 stall. My yank was $350 to my door (I got it on a Group Purchase though)

You may want to speak to the guys at http://www.edgeracingconverters.com .

I've got the Street Edge 9.5" 2800 stall and I really like it. It's priced at $450 I believe. Plus the customer service at Edge Racing is outstanding.

I have the yank 3000 in mine. The quality is first rate with either converter. I can say that if I was to do it again, I would go with a little less stall. (2600) Its tight enough under light throttle and performs well under full throttle. The thing that annoys me is when going say 25 mph and give it half throttle it spools up but the car just dosnt respond as well as it did with a tighter converter. Its kinda a mushy feeling. IMHO you will receive a lot of opinions about converters, exhaust, and the best color to paint your car. If at all possible try to drive one with the converter you want before purchasing it if possible.
