Default Oil Temerature Sensor

Would a bad oil temp. sensor keep the car from starting. Will turn over but won't start.

hi,oil temp has nothing to do with the car starting.on some gm cars the fuel sparksystem is tied in with the oil pressure switch, which in turn means no oil pressure ,no start.did you check for spark and fuel?good luck greg84

A faulty oil temp sw will not prevent starting.

Put a fuel pressue gauge on the Schraeder valve turn on the ignition and see if the fuel rail is charged.

If it has fuel pressure, put a timing light on #1 wire, hold the trigger and crank the engine to see if it has ignition.
