What basic tools to you take on a trip?

If you were trying to reduce the number of sockets/wrenches to include, does anyone know the sizes that are NEVER used. Seems a waste to take unnecessary tools. Just a thought.

I also have a piece of hard wood about 14x14x1 to put under the jack in case I have to change a tire in soft/damp dirt or gravel (AGAIN! :banghead: ), I had to do this once in my other car because it was the only safe place to pull over but the stupid jack kept sinking until I found something on the side of the road to put under it. Now I carry one with me and it fits behind the passenger seat, it’s painted black so it doesn’t stand out and look ugly.
{Edit} Oh, and shop rags and those blue rubber gloves so you don't get the interior all gunky and oily after you do an emergency repair. {/Edit}
