Default 383 with nitrous

I plan on stroking my motor out to a 383 or 396 with nitrous when I get the green.
And wanted to know if you need a forged Crank and rods if you are only running a 75-150 shot?

Depends on how extreme your motor is, but a lot of guys are using cast cranks with the juice from what I have read. Personally, mine is forged crank, rods, and pistons but I do not want to ever have to worry about throwing more power at the bottom end. Sure you can still blow it up, been there, but it will handle more overall.

So, is it necessary, not necessarily. ;)

When I did mine, I wasn't sure what I was planning on for the future. I wanted a forged crank "just in case". I really think spending a few hundred more on the forged crank is piece of mind. If you every have problems with the cast, you'll regret not getting it. I always like to have better if at all possible. :D Some of it will depend on if you're having it done or doing it yourself as well. Since I had mine done, "if" I had saved on the crank and had a problem later, I'd pay much more having it redone. The difference wasn't worth the risk.
