Where can I find 40 series flomaster mufflers? I've looked around and i can not seem to find any direct replacements that bolt up without any modifications. I've heard that some people run these mufflers and i would like to know how they got these mufflers to fit. Also is there any exhaust shops that will install custom mufflers on a vette without a catalytic converter. :banghead:
From what I hear Flow-Master has another muffler for the Vette that sounds even better. The 50, there was a thread about them just a couple of days ago.
Go to the Flowmaster web site, there they have a Adobe Acrabat file where you can match up part numbers or order their catalog. I then ordered them from Summit.

:nono: it doesnt sound better, it is the same tone but quieter than the 40's. 40 series are 2 chambers and 50's are 3 chamber.
To answer your question I don't think flowmaster makes a 40 series muffler that is designed "specifically" for our cars like they do in the 50 series. However, all you need to do is see if your current mufflers are center/offset in and out and then buy a set that has the same configuration. My car is an L98 so it may be different, but mine are simply generic 40 series (2.5" diameter) offset/inlet and center/outlet. Going this route you'll probably need a muffler shop to weld them up for you. 50 series sound nice............40 series ROAR :reddevil
Darkness......there are two different 40 series Flowmasters (two chamber).....the originals, which resonate the most and the 40 series Delta Flows which have a resonator chamber included. they are still loud, but do not resonate so bad. The Flowmaster Force II C4 system has a center resonator and series 50 Flowmasters (three chamber)

I'm looking at a Jegs Catalog, and it shows a pictorial presentation of 4 muffler types with various inlet/outlet offsets. The inlet/outlet size ranges from 2", 2 1/4", 2 1/2", and 3" diameters.
They show a 40 series with 2 chambers. They do not show a 40 series with 3 chambers.
The case is 4" X 9.75" X 13" long.
This catalog might be 2 years old. Call them at 1-800-345-4545.
To me, IMHO, Flowmasters sound like a truck (well maybe a school bus); I prefer the classic sound of Chambered Exhaust Systems. http://www.sweet-thunder.com
