Okay.......now I am getting worried. Confirmed that there is absolutely no water loss, oil is fine and holding good pressure. Integrity of the hoses are okay, the water pump is good and there is no trash blocking the radiator. The only thing that I have not confirmed is the stat. Since this is a brand new stat that is only a month old, I find it unlikely that it could be bad. Could be wrong though :) Anyway just took the car for a short cruise. The oil temp rose quickly to 260 and the water rose to 235 and held steady. The fans are functioning normally. What in the heck is going on here. All ideas are welcomed. Otherwise, I am going to have to just rip the top apart on a hunt.
Maybe your T/Stat is stuck and not opening fully? It's certainly easy to check and deal with. The stock chip doesn't even turn the main fan on till 240 if I recall correctly so it may be that your car is behaving normal.
The thing I dont get is that the oil temp will normally follow the water temp as long as you're not getting on it or sitting at idle too much. You could through a 180 stat in it which should go full open much sooner and see how it behaves.
I 86'd my stock chip because of the way it handles the fan. Most aftermarket chips will turn it on at 180'ish.
Fans kick on at 225 and off at around 210. I will replace the stat with another in the morning and see if that doesn't give me some results. I have never had the car behave like this even during the summer.
